An RPV (Rigid Pocket V-shaped) compact filter is a filter with a plastic frame in which V-shaped filter packs with a minipleated filter medium are glued. This ensures a rigid construction without the risk of air bypass between the frame and the filter packs. "Minipleated" means, loosely translated, 'finely folded'. This results in a large effective filter surface while keeping the external dimensions of the filter pack limited. Thanks to the V-shaped gluing of the filter packs, the total filter surface in the compact filter is further increased. The increase in surface area contributes to extending the filter's lifespan and lowering the pressure drop across the filter.
