Is UV-C harmful to humans and animals?
Normally, when using open UV-C sources, important precautions need to be taken. Direct UV-C radiation can be harmful to humans and animals. It can damage the skin and eyes. During disinfection with open UV-C sources of spaces, the skin of any present personnel must be fully covered and the eyes must be protected with UV goggles. For offices, meeting rooms, and other spaces where people are present continuously, this form of disinfection is not practical. This should take place before or after the space is occupied.
A closed UV-C air sterilizer provides a solution

The harmful radiation from the built-in UV-C source of the UV-C FiltAir cannot come into contact with humans or animals when the equipment is used correctly. These autonomous air purifiers continuously recirculate the air in spaces. The air is passed through a filter against floating dust particles, then led along special UV-C fluorescent tubes by means of low-noise built-in fans. This process can sterilize the air up to 99.99%. Depending on the selected model, the air in the room is passed along the UV-C source up to five times an hour.
