What is filter fabric?

Filter fabric is a filter material that, in most cases, removes particles from the air, ranging from coarse dust to finer contaminants. Due to the different types of materials and layers, these fabrics are suitable for various filtration applications, from air handling units to spray booths and industrial uses.

Benefits of filter fabric

Each filter fabric has its own specific benefits, but the advantages that every type of filter fabric brings are as follows:

• Custom-cut/made, with some variants available in rolls
• Filter fabric has low resistance
• The filter fabrics are lightweight

Custom-cut filter fabric

Most filter fabrics are custom-cut and available in the desired dimensions. Our fiberglass, synthetic, ceiling, paintstop, PPI, Cocolok, and Hairlok filter fabrics are all available custom-cut for you.

Filter fabric in rolls

In addition to custom cutting, several filter fabrics from our range are available in rolls. For example, synthetic filter fabric and ceiling filter fabric are available in rolls.

Fiberglass filter fabric

• Fiberglass filter fabric is most commonly used as a moisture separator in the filter installation of a gas turbine. This prevents moisture from entering the turbine from the outside.
• Properties: Low resistance, cost-effective, strong design.
• Applications: HVAC systems, industrial air filtration.

Synthetic filter fabric

• Synthetic filter fabric, made from polyester fibers, offers versatile options for air filtration in air handling units. It is lightweight and effective at trapping both coarse and finer particles.
• Properties: Lightweight, suitable for coarse and fine air filtration, available in rolls or custom-cut.
• Applications: Pre-filtration in HVAC systems and air conditioning.

Ceiling filter fabric

• Ceiling filter fabric is often used in spray booths and paint lines.
• This fabric ensures controlled airflow and prevents contamination, which improves the quality of paint and coating processes. It also benefits lighting fixtures and the health of workers in the space.
• Properties: Low pressure drop, fully combustible, available in rolls or custom-cut.
• Applications: Paint spray booths, paint lines, printing houses.

Paintstop filter fabric

• Paintstop filter fabric is designed to capture paint mist in spray booths.
• This fiberglass fabric has an open structure that traps paint particles without quickly becoming saturated. Additionally, dust-stop (dry dust) and hydro-stop (waterborne paint) options are available.
• Properties: High paint mist capture capacity, dry dust or waterborne paint, custom-cut, low resistance, and progressive build-up.
• Applications: Paint spray booths

PPI filter fabric

• PPI filter fabric, or filter foam, has variable porosity (PPI), is used for air filtration, and is water-resistant. The open foam structure allows for consistent airflow and can be washed.
• Properties: Open foam structure, variable porosity, reusable.
• Applications: Air humidifiers, lower requirement air filtration, speaker protection.

Cocolok and Hairlok filter fabric

• Cocolok and Hairlok filter fabrics are made from natural fibers such as coconut and animal hair. These eco-friendly materials are suitable for coarser air filtration, including industrial applications.
• Properties: Eco-friendly, natural fibers, available custom-cut and in rolls.
• Applications: Intake filters for diesel engines and compressors, filtration in air handling units.

Various filter class filter fabric

Although filter fabric is generally a coarser filter, different filter fabrics are available in various filter classes. These range from coarse ISO-Coarse (G1, G2, G3) filter fabric to finer ePM10-50% filter fabric. Check the specific product pages to see which filter class your desired filter fabric meets.
