Tuinderij Vers

Farm Vers is a contemporary vegetable processing specialist, specializing in cutting, mixing and packaging a wide range of vegetables and fruits into ready-to-use and ready-to-cut products. Farm Vers' assortment includes a variety of ready-to-cut vegetables, vegetable mixes, salad specialties, freshly cut vegetable salads and ready-to-eat meal salads, presented in various specific packaging that meet the needs of wholesalers, supermarkets and the foodservice industry.

Collaboration between Interfilter Group and Farm Vers

To ensure that all vegetable and fruit products will remain at the right temperature during the processing process, Farm Vers uses various cooling units on the roof. A common problem is that such units (due to constant intake of outside air) attract a lot of coarse dirt which will then end up in the respective unit. This leads to unwanted consequences such as reduced cooling efficiency, shortened unit lifespan and a significantly higher energy consumption because the air flow will be much more difficult. In addition, a dirty unit also means that technical cleaning will need to be done more often. Something that results in increased maintenance costs.

To address the above problem, we assisted Farm Vers in the optimization process. Our colleague Mats Verbrugge, after an extensive inventory on site, in consultation with Loek Rochus and Martin de Boer, was able to provide advice. After discussing all the benefits, we finally received the green light to start.

Simple maintenance and more efficient systems

Thanks to ProScreen, the condensers remain clean and the coarse dirt will now be captured preventively. "Throughout the year, ProScreen is very easy and especially quick to rinse and/or brush clean. This means that fewer thorough cleanings are needed. Something that brings a significant cost saving. This results in a more efficient, economical and cleaner cooling system that can run with the highest possible efficiency throughout the year," said Mats Verbrugge, Area Sales Manager at Interfilter Group. An additional and noteworthy benefit is that 6.5% energy consumption is saved on an annual basis by using the ProScreens. In the case of Farm Vers, this will result in a saving of at least €78,000 per year.

Expected results

Through the elaborated ROI calculation by Interfilter, it is expected that Farm Vers will have earned back the investment in ProScreens within 2.3 years. This is due to reduced energy costs, reduced maintenance costs and extended long-term lifespan of the installations.

Special thanks to

This great project at Farm Vers was made possible by Loek Rochus and Martin de Boer who had close contact with our representative Mats Verbrugge. A good partnership once again shows that beautiful results can be achieved, in this case a wonderful optimization of the cooling systems.
